The Mai Tai cocktail is a tropical and fruity drink with a balanced combination of sweet, tangy, and citrus flavors. Ingredients
- 1 oz Light/White rum (IBA prefers Martinique Molasses Rhum*)
- 1/2 oz Orgeat syrup (Almond)
- 1/2 oz Triple sec (orange liqueur/curacao)
- 1 oz Freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/4 oz Simple syrup
- 1 piece each Pineapple spear,mint leaves, lime peel
- 1 oz Gold rum (IBA prefers Amber Jamaican Rum)
Instructions
Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice.. Shake and pour into a double rocks glass or an highball glass.. * The Martinique molasses rum used by Trader Vic was not an Agricole Rhum but a type of “rummy” from molasses.. Garnish with pineapple spear, mint leaves and lime peel.
