  • Falernum· not in your bar¼ oz

    Or swap: Ginger Syrup — keeps the spice kick, Orgeat — almond-sweet, less spice

  • Gold Rum· not in your bar1 oz

    Or swap: Dark Rum — deeper molasses, White Rum — lighter and drier

  • Angostura Bitters· not in your bar2 dashes

    Or swap: Orange Bitters — citrus-forward, Peychaud's Bitters — brighter, anise-tinged

  • Blackstrap Rum· not in your bar1 oz

    Or swap: Dark Rum — lighter molasses bite

  • Lime(optional)· not in your bar1/2

Instructions

  1. Cut the half lime in half again.

  2. Add the lime, falernum, and bitters to a rocks glass.

  3. Muddle.

  4. Add the rum. (Aged Barbados rum such as Plantation 5 Year is recommended).

  5. Add ice and stir.

  6. Float the blackstrap rum on top.

  7. Serve with a straw.
